Tom Ford Lost Cherry

Lost Cherry

Tom Ford Lost Cherry Review

Tom Ford Lost Cherry is one of Tom Ford’s most popular fragrances, and is a must-have for many fragrance collectors who love cherry fragrances.

Lost Cherry opens with the scent of sweet, syrupy, candied maraschino cherries. The bitter almond and cherry liqueur notes are present right away, creating a warm, boozy, syrupy-sweet cherry almond fragrance.

The spicy and woody base notes add depth, though the dark cherry sweetness remains present through the dry down.

Overall, Lost Cherry, is a warm, sweet, boozy cherry almond fragrance with a photo-realistic maraschino cherry opening and a deeply sweet and slightly spicy cherry almond dry down.

  • Top Notes: Bitter Almond, Black Cherry, Cherry Liqueur
  • Middle Notes: Sour Cherry, Plum, Turkish Rose, Jasmine Sambac
  • Base Notes: Tonka Bean, Vanilla, Cinnamon, Peru Balsam, Benzoin, Sandalwood, Cloves, Cedar, Patchouli, Vetiver

✓ Pros

  • Beautiful, deeply sweet cherry almond scent
  • Great choice for fall and winter
  • Versatile

✗ Cons

  • Some find the opening too synthetic
  • Expensive

Maison Alhambra Lovely Chèrie Review

Maison Alhambra Lovely Chèrie is a popular and very affordable Tom Ford Lost Cherry dupe.

Lovely Chèrie opens with sweet, dark cherry and creamy almond notes. It is a very light and smooth fragrance.

As Lovely Chèrie dries down, it remains smooth and sweet with the cherry and almond notes remaining present. The toffee gives this fragrance a very smooth, creamy sweetness, and subtle spicy notes become present, similar to Lost Cherry.

Overall, Lovely Chèrie replicates the sweet dark cherry and almond scent of Lost Cherry, but I find it lacks a bit of Lost Cherry’s spicy depth in the dry down.

  • Top Notes: Bitter Almond, Rose
  • Middle Notes: Cherry, Black Cherry, Amber
  • Base Notes: Tonka Bean, Toffee, Peru Balsam

✓ Pros

  • Very affordable
  • Versatile
  • Great for layering

✗ Cons

  • Some report poor longevity

Tom Ford Lost Cherry vs Maison Alhambra Lovely Chèrie

Let’s compare Tom Ford Lost Cherry vs Maison Alhambra Lovely Chèrie in terms of scent, performance, and price.

Opening: Both fragrances have a beautiful deep, syrupy sweet cherry and almond opening. I find Lost Cherry’s opening more of a vibrant cherry, while Lovely Chèrie was more balanced between the cherry and almond notes.

Dry down: Both fragrances retain the deep, boozy, sweet, cherry almond notes throughout the dry down. Lost Cherry gains a fair bit of depth, with spicy and woody notes, while Lovely Chèrie stays a bit sweeter, though it does evolve in a similar way to Lost Cherry, with some depth.

Winner: Tom Ford Lost Cherry

Longevity: I experience similar longevity between Lost Cherry and Lovely Chèrie, with both lasting a decent 7 hours on average, but settling down into more subtle skin scents within 4 – 5 hours.

Projection: I find the projection of Lost Cherry to be superior. While the projection doesn’t last more than an hour or two, it is fairly strong for a short period of time. Lovely Chèrie is a beautiful fragrance, but it is a quiet fragrance.

Winner: Tie

At its very low price, I don’t even mind that the longevity of Lovely Chèrie isn’t great. The scent is beautiful, and you can freely over spray, or use it for layering.

Winner: Maison Alhambra Lovely Chèrie by a landslide!
