Maison Alhambra Delilah Review: New Delina Dupe

Welcome to my Maison Alhambra Delilah review!

Maison Alhambra Delilah was a new release in 2023 and has quickly become popular as a dupe for Parfums de Marly Delina.

I compared Maison Alhambra Delilah and Parfums de Marly Delina head to head to assess Maison Alhambra Delilah as a clone in terms of scent and performance.

The verdict? Delilah is a very worthy alternative to Delina, with one caveat….wait for the dry down!

Maison Alhambra Delilah

Maison Alhambra Delilah Review

✓ Pros

  • Very good clone of Parfums de Marly Delina
  • Low price
  • Great choice for spring and summer
  • Versatile

✗ Cons

  • Some people report poor longevity
  • Harsh opening

What Does Maison Alhambra Delilah Smell Like?

Maison Alhambra Delilah opens with soft rose and floral notes, along with a hint of sweet and sour fruitiness from the rhubarb and litchi. Be warned that there is a sharpness and “cheap” quality to the opening, but this dissipates quickly. Don’t judge Delilah based on the first few minutes!

As Delilah dries down, the vanilla, cashmeran, and white musk base notes come forward, bringing a fresh, clean, and slightly sweet muskiness to this rose-forward fragrance. The fruity tartness also remains subtly present in the background.

Overall, Delilah is a fresh and clean rose fragrance, with a hint of slightly sweet fruity tartness.

Compared to Parfums de Marly Delina, I would say Delilah is lighter and not quite as fruity and robust in the opening but is quite similar in the dry down.

  • Top Notes: Rhubarb, Bergamot, Litchi
  • Middle Notes: Turkish Rose, Lily, Peony
  • Base Notes: Vanilla, Cashmeran, White Musk

Maison Alhambra Delilah has decent longevity and projection. I get a solid 6 hours of noticeable wear on skin, with above-average projection for the first few hours. Delilah will last for days when sprayed on clothes as well.

When to Wear Maison Alhambra Delilah

Delilah is a great choice for the spring and summer months, though it is strong enough to hold its own during the colder months as well.

Delilah is very versatile, as it is not quite as powerful as Delina. This makes it appropriate for pretty much any occasion, from nights out to heading to the office (though be mindful of application here).

Price-wise, Maison Alhambra Delilah is incredibly competitive, offering a high-quality fragrance at a very low price.

Maison Alhambra Delilah vs Parfums de Marly Delina

Let’s compare Maison Alhambra Delilah vs Parfums de Marly Delina in terms of scent, performance, and price.

Opening: Delilah has a very harsh and sharp opening. On the other hand, Delina has a full-bodied, juicy, fruity, rose opening.

Dry down: Delilah comes into its own in the dry down. Into the first hour of wear, Delilah and Delina are quite similar, both are clean and slightly sweet, rose-dominant fragrances, with a slight fruity tartness in the background.

Winner: Parfums de Marly Delina

Delilah is an average to above-average performer, with decent longevity and projection. Delina, however, is exceptionally strong, even too strong for some.

I find Delilah to fall within the perfect sweet spot of strength without being overpowering.

Winner: Parfums de Marly Delina

Maison Alhambra Delilah can be found at approximately one-tenth the price of Parfums de Marly Delina.

Winner: Maison Alhambra Delilah

Final Verdict: Delilah is a worthy alternative to Delina. The only downside is the harsh opening, but once you get into the dry down, Delilah offers a very similar scent profile with respectable longevity at a very affordable price.

Ideas for Layering

Maison Alhambra Delilah stands on its own quite well, but if you enjoy experimenting with layering, here are some ideas!

  • Kayali Vanilla 28 (substitute any vanilla)
  • Kayali Sparkling Lychee
  • Kayali Eden Juicy Apple
  • Lattafa Yara
  • Maison Alhambra Lovely Chèrie
  • Mancera Roses Vanille
  • Montblanc Signature
  • Valentino Donna Born in Roma
  • Burberry Her Elixir

Are Maison Alhambra Delilah and Parfums de Marly Delina unisex fragrances?

These fragrances are what many would view as traditionally feminine, with a mainly floral scent profile. However, all fragrances are truly gender-neutral, and everyone should wear whatever fragrances they enjoy. As a woman, I often wear fragrances marketed to men, and I know many men enjoy fragrances marketed to women.

Can I wear Maison Alhambra Delilah and Parfums de Marly Delina year-round?

Definitely! I tend to wear floral fragrances more during the spring and summer, but these are strong enough to cut through the cold weather in fall and winter.

Parfums de Marly Delina is expensive but I’d like to compare it with Maison Alhambra Delilah. Can I buy a sample of Delina?

Yes! You can buy samples of Delina from Scent Split and MicroPerfumes if you’d like to try it out without buying a whole bottle.

Final Thoughts

Maison Alhambra Delilah is definitely worth a buy as an alternative to Parfums de Marly Delina. With its fresh rose scent, strong performance, and low price, you can’t go wrong!
